FOURTH QUARTER 2024

Presentation of a new proposal for European Projects on BIM environmental technological innovation

On this occasion, the ODS ACCIÓ Foundation in collaboration with universities, technology centers, and international entities specialized in advanced technologies, has participated in the development and presentation of an innovative project whose priority is to provide efficient and durable solutions to the construction sector based on BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology.

Much of the energy consumed by the construction sector is wasted; this inefficiency can be reduced by investing in intelligent BIM technologies, both in existing and new buildings, to achieve energy improvement targets and reduce the carbon footprint.

The digital BIM technique is based on a collaborative methodology that integrates all the participating agents and centralizes all the information on the life cycle and construction management of each project. This advanced methodology on which this proposal is based will revolutionize the sector exponentially thanks to its ease of use and access to users, the updated and automated management of all data in real time, savings in costs and execution times, and improvements in the performance of buildings through energy and environmental efficiency strategies.

The undertaking of this project will also benefit the construction sector by providing improved interoperability through the establishment of a “common digital language” through the use of dictionaries and data templates, which will advance management and safety throughout the life of buildings. This improvement in building processes ensures the reduction of carbon emissions by optimizing materials and applying sustainable production methods, achieving lower energy and waste consumption, a key objective on the road to “zero-emission” clean technologies.

This activity contributes to the achievement of the following SDGs:
