The Foundation participates in the presentation of a new European proposal on the integral renovation of buildings based on on-site smart portable factories, advanced digital twin technology, robotics, and AI-driven life cycle management<\/h1>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

This European proposal, backed by companies and R&D&I centers specializing in advanced digital technology, addresses circular building issues in this initiative to provide solutions that integrate on-site smart portable factories, advanced digital twin technology, robotics and AI-driven life cycle management to achieve near-zero energy renovations, minimize costs and waste, and ensure scalability for wider adoption. This streamlined site management and improved management of the building’s entire life cycle collectively ensures comprehensive coverage of the entire renovation process.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The recent European regulation on Construction Products boosts the circular economy and the technological development of this industry and promotes the reduction of material waste and its reuse. According to data recently published by the European Commission “the building ecosystem accounts for almost 5.5% of EU GDP and employs around 25 million people in more than 5 million enterprises … buildings are responsible for around 50% of resource extraction and consumption and more than 30% of the total waste produced each year in the EU; they are also responsible for 40% of EU energy consumption and 36% of energy-related greenhouse gas emissions.” (Council of the European Union, Press Release, 5 Nov. 2024 11:41 “Building materials: Council adopts legislation for clean and smart building products).<\/p>

This innovation, driven and supported by circular construction clusters, is in line with the EU’s Built4People objectives and ensures scalable, socially inclusive and planet-friendly renovation pathways, measures that are also part of the European Green Pact and the Circular Economy Action Plan.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
